About Me.
A return to your body.
homebody studios is a space for intentional movement—designed as an online practice you can return to anytime, from anywhere.
Alongside the digital space, Ali also offers in-person classes and small group series—including Core in Motion at Pure Gym—bringing this work into a shared, embodied experience.
Through breath-led Pilates, yoga, and nervous system-informed practices, you’re invited to move in a way that feels intelligent, connected, and sustainable.
I’m Ali—movement educator, kinesiology student, and lifelong student of the body.
My work is shaped by both formal training and lived experience. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2014, followed by a 50-hour meditation training, and later my Pilates certification through Neu Movement. Prior to this path, I earned a degree in Political Science from McMaster University—an education that continues to inform how I think, question, and understand the systems we move within.
Over time, my perspective shifted.
From performance → to awareness
From output → to connection
From pushing → to listening
Because what I’ve come to understand is this:
The body doesn’t need more force. It needs more attention.
The Work
This work lives at the intersection of science and subtlety.
Grounded in kinesiology and informed by evidence-based principles, each class is designed to support:
• Deep core integration (pelvic floor, diaphragm, transverse abdominis)
• Breath as a driver of movement and stability
• Functional strength and control
• Nervous system regulation and recovery
It’s precise.
It’s intentional.
And it’s deeply felt.
The Experience
homebody exists in two forms—both rooted in the same philosophy.
Online, you have access to a practice you can return to anytime—designed to support consistency, autonomy, and a deeper relationship with your body.
In person, classes and series like Core in Motion at Pure Gym offer a more intimate, guided experience—where you’re seen, supported, and coached in real time.
Together, they create a rhythm:
Practice on your own.
Refine in person.
Integrate over time.
Who This Is For
For those who want more than a workout.
For those who are ready to:
• Move with awareness, not urgency
• Build strength without disconnecting
• Understand their body on a deeper level
• Create space—for both effort and ease
This is an invitation inward.
To slow down.
To listen.
To build a body that feels like home.
Welcome to homebody.
